So my kid atv been sitting all winter and I got a new battery ignite and set of keys. I switched the ignition out because of lost keys.

so when I press the starter relay no lights come on neither the brake light, but when I put a screwdriver to the solenoid it try’s to crank up and I see the lights coming on, but also I see that it blows the fuse like breaks it right in the middle, no smoke though.
Any idea what’s going on here? I was going to buy a new starter relay but after I saw that the fuse was blowing everytime I crank the solenoid I reconsidered.

 

At a guess you have wired that new ignition switch wrongly, or bought the wrong switch.
