need opinions on problem please

well, i finally got my yohsi slip on on. Took it for a ride. didnt jet anything and stock airbox and filter.
First thing when i took first ride i noticed was a slight hesitation when i slam the gas from low rpm. other than that it seemed fine. No backfire i remember. today i took it for a second two minute ride and it did same thing, but after i rode it at WOT for 5 seconds and then slowed down, the engine began crap sputter or something (the things my warrior did when the parking brake is messed up and you try to move)
Then it stalled. Started it up again and ran fine for 10 seconds then did same thing. I ran it with the choke halfway and that helped a little but then after a while i started to sputter again and i had to move it a little more.
BTW, after my first ride, all other experiences were after i put a new plug in. Im gonna check the plug once it cools but i was wondering what you guys think needs to be done.
Some people say just to turn the air/fuel mixture screw 1/2 turn out and others say i need jets. before i do anything id like some opinions. thanks as always/warrior86

i definately have to jet? how do i know if its just the a/f screws. Im at a decently high altitude (pocono mountains) so do you have any reccomendations? ive never done jetting before but i have the raptor manual. SHould i be able to do it myself? thanks pat

You should be able to do it yourself. A/F at idle there should be no hesitation when you blip the throttle and when riding at high RPM no popping at deacceration. If you have not put a K&N or removed your snorkle or lid probably go up 1 on the mains. K&N filter,Dynojet kit and no lid will get you bigger gains

i just checked my brand new plug after having a total of 5 min of slam through the gear type of riding on it plus the warm up. the electrode (if thats the rounder arm that curves over the middle) was a greyish color. THe old plug had tan porcelain and a darker grey on the electrode. thats all i know so far. There were a couple of tan marks on the porcelain but thats it. hope this will help you guys help me diagnose my problem?! thanks

i dont really need bigger gains. To be honest i did it mostly for the sound, but thanks for the info. So your saying i should turn the a/f screw out until there is no hesitation when i blip the throttle at idle? go one up on the main. Is there a number for this. Im gonna go to my local store soon and pick up what i need so what should i tell them ? "can i have a main jet one up from stock for a raptor?" or is there a number like 165...i always seen people talkin bout number in other posts. thanks againl
btw..the a/f screw is the same as the idle screw right? or no? do i have to go into the carb or is it the one accesible from the outside?

So like you have no idea where anything is at, You might be better off having the dealer rejet it for you
Can't remember whats stock mains were think 140/145 so 145/150 and the A/F is NOT the idle two different things. A/F is under the carbs and only go in 1/2 turns at a time till correct. They sell a special screw driver for it like Snapon or Craftsman.
When you go to the dealer ask them what the stock jetting is and get 2 mains above that. I do recamend ATLEAST remove the snorkle

well it was at the dealership when i bought the pipe. I actually drove all the way to PA from ny at 4 am a week ago so i could drop it off to be done. they said a week later it should be done no problem. A week went by and they havent even touched it so i was like the hell with it, ill learn myself. so i picked it up.
I really wanna learn on my own.
