I have been told by different dealers that the belt on a SP 500 has a lifetime warranty. Is this true? The reason I ask is because in another post here, I see where someone had to replace their belt 3 times in 9 months at his expense. Granted this was a 700. Is it lifetime for the 500 and not the 700?

 

It's pretty stupid how they work it.. It's lifetime warranty on your original belt only. So after you replace it once then, well no more warranty.

 

Not to mention, I you smoke it due to slippage, it's on you. The "so called" warranty on the belt is void if that's the case.

 

If you read the polaris website it says LIMITED lifetime belt warranty. It says this in the brochures,website and all other info. It will only cover if the belt shreads or breaks. Belt slippage is so called abuse. If you dont want to kee[ replacing belts and dont want it to slip then you need to get a clutch kit. We all know that MOST people dont just use thier atv's for light recreation and utility work!! If the belt slips then mostlikely it is rider error and/or abuse.

 

I dunno i got 4 free belts from my dealer, i only hadto buy 1 belt. They also alligned my clutch's for me after i had to buy one at no charge. They have been pretty cool about the replacement of belts.
