I have a buddy who is a crotch rocket fanatic, he says the best way to pack one is with steel wool. He says to buy about 24 steel wool pads 000 fine ($2). Unroll steel wool pads before wrapping core, wrap around core starting at engine end, overlapping each wrap til you get to the end. Then lay new rolls along top and bottom to fill oval canister. Then unroll some more pads and wrap everything spirally until it fills canister.

I have repacked an old FMF before with real repacking material and could never get enuff in it, as soon as you started it, it would all blow back to the rear. He says steel wool will stay put.

A buddy at the dirt drags has a Rappie with Big Gun and his was completely gone, he repacked it and picked up 2 bike lengths!!

Keep me posted if you try it!!

I can hear the core of my Wood pipe rattling at when I ride at a higher RPMs. And if I pick up my quad from the grab bar...and drop it (from a few inches) I can hear the metal clanking...

I need to stop putting this off do I?
