Default Problem with Recoil on P650??

Hi guys.. I been using my 2002 650 alot and washing it alot? Today I was on the trail and stopped for a rest break.. I thought to myself that its been a couple of weeks since I tried to pull the recoil to start the machine. I grabbed it and pulled.. It almost went but it might have been too Hot? The recoil pulled almost all the way out and wouldn't go back in.. I kept tugging a little at a time and it would draw a little in at a time.. After about 10 min I got it all the way in on its own.. Did I break some thing? Or something tangle? This never happened to me? Also its my first quad.. What should I check for? Or should I take it to the Dealer? Would it be possible for me to fix?
Thanks for any Help!!

No problem. Handle the assembly carefully if you don't want to have to deal with the coil spring. If you leave the unit face down (with the guts up) and don't lift the rope hub then it should stay wound.

Just lift the metal cup off and place a small washer in between the plastic hub and the metal cup as mentioned.

If the spring uncoils on you; just start at the center and work around and around the spring with both of your thumbs. As you get closer to the center it gets harder to flip the coil. Try and hold what you wrapped plus twist up the center bit and tuck it down. A few tries and you'll get it.
