Default Problem with EBS on 2000 Sportsman 500

For the third time now since I bought my ATV new, my EBS is operating at about 1/2 strength. The last time my Dealer worked on it he said it was "belt aligment," and he re-shimed it. It's worked well until the last couple times I've ridden it. I've put about 500 miles on it since the dealer worked on it and the EBS is getting weak again. Sometimes on steeper downhills it will disengage. With a bump of the throttle it will re-engage for another 50 feet or so before disengaging again. If it's not a steep downhill it won't disengage but does not slow the ATV down as much as the normal. Any one with suggestions??? The belt is in good condition.
