Default Putting New head Gasket In

My head gasket is leaking, I need to put a new one in. I was wondering what steps there is to take it off. Ex. like to i need to take off the plastic or gas tank or anything else. Just tell me what to do.

yeah i replaced my head all together and its a bitch. you have to take off the front plastic , just unscrew the choke and the key switch and unplug the indicator lights and remove the gas tank. thats one of the pains of polaris every thing is pretty hard to get too unless you take something off... anyway once you get the front plastic and the tank off you should have pretty good access to the head. i bought a prodesign cool head to preplace my stock one that i screwed up and they use o-rings instead of gaskets so all i had to do was put some grease on the o-rings and put the head on. not sure what you'll have to do with the gasket. maybe someone else will lend their expertice. hope i helped

well prodesign doesn't make heads for tb250s and i couldn't find any other place online that does. HPD has a porting service that would help it out, performance wise. post a thread about where to find tb250 heads at and maybe some one else will know something.
