Default Noise around engine area when i throw it in reverse!!!!

sometimes when i throw my 2004 raptor in reverse a clicking sound can be heard...its almost like a knocking noise. The noise does not happen all the time when im in reverse just sometimes...but that alone is enough for me to worry. If my raptor blows up, then im going to blow up

I guess i should just stay away from reverse!!!!

Its been happening to me too. But mine is more like a grinding sound. The reverse light will be glowing red, but when I let out the clutch, it doesn't move and just makes an awful grinding sound.

I found that it wouldn't do it if I took my time putting it in reverse. Only when I tried to do it too fast, it had the problem. So as long as I hold the shifter down and the reverse lever on for a little more then 1 second, it works fine.

Try double shifting it into reverse, shift into reverse, then let the clutch out slightly and pull it back in, then push down on the shifter again.

If you haven't replaced the factory shifter with a direct shifter yet, that's part of your problem.
