It sure does look that way. Gore is a huge tree hugger and any way he thinks can protect the environment, he will. If elected, what does this mean? Potentially cleaner gas laws (higher prices at the pump), cleaner burning laws for all business (which in WV or Ky could transform power plants from coal burning to an altarnative source), making electricity and metals more expensive,...Also, remember the tax reliefe that the Democrats shot down? They also want to raise the minumum wage to about $7 an hour. End result--the people who earn more than the minimun wage ends up paying more for everything with no extra cash! It is like they think most people making minumim wage is supporting a household. Sorry for the long post...I guess I needed to vent some!

Hell
The Fed ruined more land a Los Alamos, than all the ATV's could do in a million years.
I can't imagine anyone would vote Democrap and actually work and pay taxes so the rest of the Democraps can sit on their ars and collect their government check.

Let's see, the socialists, umm, I mean democrats, not only want to take away our right to enjoy the out doors on our 4 wheelers, but the first thing on Gore's agenda is to push as much Anti firearms legislation as possible..... They figure that if you can't hunt, you don't need a 4 wheeler, and vice versa..... I guess that the election will be a no-brainer. It looks like Bush will get elected, I just hope that Billy Joe Bob doesn't screw things up too bad between election day and inauguration day...
I'll put away the soap box now.

If you go to Sierra clubs website there is a place to comment on road closers. Send in your opinions on this and thank Sierra club for the help. I went to Field and Streams site and voted and we are at 68% for allowing OHVs in parks, the USA today came up to about the same. It is unfortunate that the media will not let this out to the public.
Also if you live in Minnesota we owe Rod Grams a bit of thanks, he is trying to keep are trails open I guess he relizes that alot of people rely on the money this brings to the state.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO COMMENT!!!! I love 4-wheeling and we need to keep our trails open.

I must admit, being a Canadian I do not know much about the way US government operates, but I found this blurb from the Sierra site interesting.
"Save Our Public Lands From Mining Waste
Senator Patty Murray, a Democrat from
Washington State, introduced an amendment to
the Department of Interior Appropriations Bill for
the year 2000. Her amendment would have
stopped an anti-environmental rider that allows
mining operations to dump their toxic tailings
and other waste across unlimited areas of public
lands. The Sierra Club supported Senator
Murray's amendment to block the rider because
it would limit the size of mining waste dumps on
public lands, as required by current law. The
motion to table, or kill, Senator Murray's
amendment passed 55 to 41 on July 27, 1999."
Was the dumping supported or rejected? If dumping was supported, ATV impact should not even be an issue. There are bigger things to worry about. If dumping was not supported, it was only won by a slim margin showing that not everyone is concerned with the environment as they say they are.
Thats my 2.82 cents (Canadian conversion) worth.

I am torn on this issue. I belive in some environmental protections that are not being done.
When I drive my atv in the outdoors. I enjoy a clean area and a vast area. The trouble is, mixed in with some good ideas are the bad ones. Like taking away our access to our public land. That to me would be the beginning of america becoming like
the old communist countries. They are becoming more like our country and our country is moving in there old direction. I dont know whom to vote for now. I dont want gore to close down our public lands but I dont care at all for bush either. rangerchet
