Is there anything I need to know about Recon ES?
#1
I just bought a new 03 Recon ES. Is there anything I need to know about this quad? Any bad habits with the electric shift?
How about tranny? Or anything else?
Thanks guys,

Just make sure your battery is always fully charged. I heard the ES can act funny on a low battery. Other than that, ride it. The little thing will just about go anywhere. We just had mine running through 18"of snow with a buddy on the back. Rode for 4 hrs and only got stuck once. It is a mini tank.

You are right about that. After buying it, I went to the October" Pumkin Run" here in Florida. It is a 20 mile course through the woods and you ride at night.I never got higher than 3rd gear the whole time. The quad went through every mud hole and trail like it was nothing.I did get stuck three times. No problem though.Because it is so light,I just got off on the right side, grabbed the rear rack as I worked the throttle and I was unstuck!
Thanks everyone,

I bought my Son one this year and I am extremely impressed with this little machine, it is very durable and can go almost anywhere, its a great all around machine...my Son loves it !

My friend has a Recon and an XR 200, i was riding the Recon, i went through thick, slick mud about a ft. high, where some other quad got stuck(you could clearly see what happened to the last quad when it went through) and that recon went through it like it was on level ground, that thing is about "unstuckable". i was very surprized.

Cut off the end of your snorkle (it has a rather restrictive small hole in it), throw on a K&N with Outerwears and an aftermarket muffler like an FMF MegaMax II, a rejet of course, and the little engine will perk up quite a bit.
