Default Best Plow Parts

I'm building a plow for my '00 SP500. I was wondering if anybody knows which plow maker makes the heaviest-duty scraper blade and plow skids for a 60" plow. I've always believed it doesn't make sense to reinvent the wheel if someone already makes a good one.

I'd appreciate your opinions.

I used a 1-1/4'' double square tube running from the trailer hitch to the front bumper mount and then a hinge to the plow. I used a 1/3 of a 2' plastic culvert with a 3/8" cutting edge, no shoes as the plow is quite light and tends to bounce over rocks on my gravel driveway. Hope this helps all in all I have about $100 in it

SlimChiply,
Like you said, don't re-invent the wheel. If you are buying the plow, why not the whole package for very little more? Moose makes a strong, high quality plow and bracket system. I put the 60" on my 500HO and love it. I use my winch to raise/lower the blade but you can get a manual lift too. The angle adjustment and quick connect system are slick. It's very heavy duty and after two years of abuse it is like new. I was going to make my own plow too, but I don't think it would be worth the time and effort.

I'm sorry, I misspoke. What I meant was the wear bar on the bottom of the plow, not the whole moldboard. My driveway is an old rutted two-track that's filled in with field stone, rocks, and broken up puddles of leftover concrete and asphalt, which is like plowing a rock-climb trail. I have a 104in heavy-duty snowblower on a 150hp tractor that it beats the crap out of, so toughness and durability are paramount. I can build a plow for much less that what I can buy one for, but the hardened scraper wear bar and wear pads are very difficult and expensive to make. Besides, I have an interesting plow design that I want to build.
