the kick start is broken and i want to push start it. can anyone give me detailed instruction on how to do it? i understand ill need a friend (or multiple friends) to help push, and ive seen this done before, but didnt see exactly how. thanks

 

Make sure it is in the run position. Put it in 4th gear, hold the clutch in and then you need to get moving as fast as you can let the clutch out if the tires just drag and don't turn put it up a gear and try again. It is best to be going down hill or have someone pull you with there quad or something. Good luck

 

IF your on a hill you can do it yourself...if not have someone push you....

Put the bike in 1st gear....get on it....pull the clutch in......start pushing.....when you get a good amount of speed.......let the clutch out and put some weight on the back of the bike....this will help the tires from locking up...if you have traction and speed...it should start right up.

 

ok someone types faster than me....they choose to use fourth gear cause the engine will turn over a bit easier under load.

 

I'm able to do it alone on my four stroke so you're going to be able alone. Put it into 4th or 5th gear. Hold in the clutch, push the quad with your belly (Can be painful for the ***** when you're not placed correctly [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] ) and when you're fast enough, release the clutch and try not making it die if it try to start by giving it some gas. Everybody was looking at me when I was doing it and they were saying WTF?

If you're two person, it's a piece of cake, have somebody push behind you, run aside the quad, just jump on it while the other guy is still pushing and release the clutch. I think you can only sit on it while the other push you

but when i get started, wont it bieng in 4th gear be too much for it to go and stall? or should i kick it back all the way down to first when it starts? sorry im really really new to atvs with manual trannys. i do have a hill that might work.

{edit} i mean after realesing the clutch, lets say it starts, if i pull the clutch back in will it idle? then put it in first and go?

 

As soon as it starts you pull the clutch in and keep it running, put it back into 1st and off you go.

 

That's it, when it's going to run, you pull back in the clutch and put it into a lower gear.
