Default Moving on from Ozark

I am 16 yrs old, 5'7 and 135 lbs. I currently have an '03 Ozark with a T-4 pipe on it. It is a great bike and I am going to regret getting rid of it, but its time for a new one. I am really looking towards the 300ex. I am on a tight budget but I don't want used. Do you think the 300ex is going to be a good bike for me? I ride mainly to explore the trails and i really like climbing hills. Occasionally, I go to Jack Frost Mt. in PA and go on their mx track, so I need my next quad to be able to jump some smaller mx jumps and take the whoops without abusing me too much.

Considering that you've outgrown a 2003 model already, maybe you should think about getting something a little bigger. Like a used 400ex. The 300ex would be a good choice as long as you don't outgrow it next year.

I presume you have "outgrown" the Ozark's performance and it isn't that you feel it is to small for you, because the 300 isn't all that much bigger. You height suggests a 400, but your weight lets you get away with a 300. I'm 5'7" and I fit the 300, but if I were any bigger, I would start getting cramped. If you are still growing, you might want to hold out for a 400??????? If not, the 300 is a great machine!

I just took my Ozark out last weekend and its STILL a ball to ride.................
Hybrid, I agree with everyone else. If your going to ditch the Ozark for a faster/funner ride make it worth your money. A 300EX is faster than the Ozark but the biggest difference between these two is the Ozark can't wheeley, jump, or climb loose hills like a 300EX but it may not have the big difference in power like you might be thinking. Other than that, I have seen a kid your size do some amazing things on a 300EX that I couldn't even try on the Ozark. It made me go out and buy a 400EX!!!!!!!!

I'm not ready to sell my Ozark yet, but I will let you know when I am. It's not so much the lack of power on the Ozark, because it has just enough power, but its the wheelying and jumping that I can't do on my Ozark which is making me want a new one. I heard somewhere that the 300ex has a metal gas tank...I dont believe it but is it true?

i have a 300ex and its is a great quad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by far better than the ozark, awesome at wheelies and a great jumper, (although the 400ex is a better jumper) the 300ex is great for trail and the reverse is a plus over the 400ex.

now about the 300ex having a metal gas tank i dont know, i doubt it but i cant say for sure.
