Default 2002 sportsman Help

Ok need some Help here!!! I have 250 miles on my 700 sportsman. Never had a problem until now The question here does anybody know what would cause it to run poorly after its washed? Its never done this before. Batt seems fine and all connections are snug.
It sounds like its not getting any fuel. The battery indicater did start blinking the other night while riding. Any thoughts on this?
it wont go passed 2 miles per hr when this happens. after screwing with it for a hour in the middle of no damm where started running fine. Today I washed it again and the same damm thing happen. it starts sputtering. looking back at some of the postings could that foam under seat behind the gas tank be blocking something here? It did back fire a couple times. what do u think!!!

Check to make sure there is Absolutely nothing in the air intake tube heading to the air filter. A while back I spent 2 days changing plugs and draining gas untill I noticed a piece of that black foam partway in the tube. It also happened later when I tried to use a pair of nylons over the opening as sort of a pre-filter.
