V-Force problems and warranty
#1
I was riding this weekend, going down a very long, steep, snow-covered hill, when my quad just quit on me. No lights or anything. I checked the fuse under the seat and it didn't look like it was blown. I am sloe still having a very hard time starting it in this cold weather. After this weekend I planned to take it to the shop and have it looked at under warranty. Pulled out the warranty card and found out it expired friday 2/6
ANy suggestions on the problem with it quitting on me? It seems like something wrong with the key switch. Also has anyone tried to get theirs fixed under warranty just after it ran out? How flexible is Kawasaki on this? I had an engine replaced in my Cobra, by Ford, 3 months after the warranty ran out. They were very good about working with me. Just wondering if Kawasaki will do the same. I plan to call the shop I bought it at today and feel them out.
Thanks,
Ian

Update:
The shop said they would likely work with Kawi if teh problem was something major but not something minor. I guess I'll fix it myself. I don't trust others working on my stuff anyway. I'll check the valve lash for the hard start problem.
Does anyone know where I can find an electronic copy of the shop manual for this quad?
Thanks,
Ian

You can also download one from here Sweetquads. You have to register first but it is no big deal

I have heard that the problem you are experiencing is caused by a wire being pinched when the seat is put on; results in a short. Do a search through the threads. I know I've seen it on here somewhere.

I just downloaded the sevice manual and found out I was checking the wrong fuse. I'm bettin' it is the main 30 amp fuse that's blown. Thanks, Pulverized, for the link. Guess I'll be going over the wiring with a fine toothed comb and stocking up on 30 amp fuses.

There is a wire on the left side that runs along the frame? or was it the right side?~LOL Anyway it can easly be pinched or wear. A little elec. tape and your good to go! Myself and a few other have had this problem causing a short and the Quad to stop running. Check your wires and my guess is this is your problem? Go back in the form
if you want There was another having the same problem and he's now good to go!!! ~Chris
