Does anyone have any experience with the new "grey" belt covers? I just put one on my Scrambler 500 and it seems to be of a thicker material, but it doesn't seem as "strong" as the old cover (the black one's). The grey one seems more flimsy, but it is also larger (more room inside for the clutch and belt). Also, why is it that new pieces don't have all of the warning stickers? The new belt cover doesn't have any (but it has smooth rectangular places for the stickers), the thumb throttle assembly, etc. Just curious, because it actually looks better without all of the "idiot stickers".

Just recieved several new models and the new cover is black instead of grey. Looks good and is sturdy.

The cover I got from my dealer is a light grey with a greenish tint to it. I wonder if it would hurt to paint it black (hey, that could be a song title... lol)? It also had 2 bolt/screw holes, near the rear of the cover, and I don't have the "mating" holes on the back half of the cover. Also, the old clips don't work on the new cover.
Weird! Later,

Is your new cover the composite. It should have a rough texture and be more rigid than the old style. I hope you didn't just buy someone's old inventory.

The new cover has a rough texture, and looks like the covers on the new models, only it is a greenish grey color. It feels thicker and is larger, leaving more room inside. My old cover had the slick feel to it, but it seemed to be more rigid. The dealer said that this was the latest revision on the belt covers. I was just wondering if any1 had any experience with these new types bending after getting hot. They just seem more flexible than the old, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I was told there were two reasons they went to the new cover. The composite material was much more resistant to heat and much less likely to warp over time.
