I drove into my garage today, right behind my Rancher AT. Something looked amiss. I went and backed my car out and looked again. The plastic fender on the right rear hangs down over 1 inch lower on the right rear side than the left rear side. Everything seems tight.

Tires are all at 3.5 lbs. Just curious if others have noticed this. I am sure it doesn't hurt the bike. The only thing I thought of was that one rear shock, maybe it or the swingarm are bent. It only has 65 miles on it.

This is my first quad, bear with me if I sound picky. But I paid a great deal of money for this quad. Thanks for all replies.

 

I've only had my Rancher AT for one week. After reading your post, I went outside to the garage and checked with a measuring tape. Mine was exact--25 inches each side from concrete to fender. I would feel the same as you regarding quality control. ATV's are expensive (probably too pricey) and one should demand a reasonable degree of exactness in fit.

Very odd...this is not like Honda. Their fit and finish is, hands down, number 1. Strange...

I would have it checked out. Maybe some plastic mounts or supports are bent? Racks bent?

 

Maybe it was from lugging your butt all over hell and creation, Rancherat400...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] JK.. what locates the fenders on the AT ? It may be that the plastic has deformed somehow, more likely some of the mounting hardware is out of place. If it was the frame or swingarm being bent, the racks should be lower on that side as well.

 

Chilly, then it is really going to lean. I am planning on dragging my butt all over this country on it. LOL. I am going to look at it closer tomorrow, but it was so evident from looking from behind. I eyeballed it above both tires and it looked really bad. Tomorrow I am going to call and ask what to look for. This will make me upset if something is bent. I never dumped it, or abused it.

 

Try to measure it once looks can be deciveing mabye it was the angle.

 

Tomorrow morning, I am going to put it on the level conrete on my patio. I am going to use a level on the machine and measure the plastic and see if the racks are level as the concrete is. Maybe it is sitting at a deceiving angle. Thanks for the advice.

Tomorrow my Rancher AT will be checked out by my dealer. Still looks like it has a frame and plastic problem. Stay tuned.

 

Drop the Rancher AT off at 12:30pm, and was in the waiting room when they came in about 20 minutes later. They adjusted the plastic and said they measure the frame and that the plastic needed adusting. They set the idle and checked the shifting, and the automatic on the unit. I was home shortly there after. Nice friendly folk to deal with.

I asked them about the dealers like Abernathy that show the Rancher AT at 4999.99, they said that was below dealer cost. Honda does sell damaged new units, and repossed units and that is all some dealers sell. I am not saying that is the case with Abernathy, but makes me wonder.

Second scenerio could be that the 4999.00 is to get you in the door. Then the 150.00 destination fee, the setup fee of 75.00, the Document Fee, the other fees will probably then equal out to about 5699.00.

Just becareful if it sounds to good to be true,,,,,,,,It probably is. Compare apples to apples.
