Scrambler 4x4 and paddle tire combinations?
#1
What are you using for paddle combinations on your scramble 400 4x4? Sizes, brand, smoothies, mohawks, etc.? How does it handle compaired to the stock tires? I have the HotSeat pipe and clutch, will it bog down to much? I have two lying around, 20x12.00-9. I thought about putting them on the rear, but they are quite a bit smaller than stock, and am not sure that they will work with the stock fronts...

I have used a few different paddles on my 400 4x4.
I have used Sand skate II, GBC paddle masters, and even a few others that I can not remember the name of (THIS DAM TIME CHANGE THING:confused
The best paddle I have used it the Skat Trak Hualer, in the stock size (22/11/10) and I have used both 7 and 8 paddle versions.
While I have never used them, My understanding is that you need BIG power to binifit from a 10 paddle. (the more paddles the more power you need).
The skat track Haulers are great for our HEAVY polaris machines becuse they have such great floatation. everything else I used just dig, The skat tracs hooked up on top and pulled hard.

Oh as for the front I run my stock 489s
I tried the 4 paddle thing, Don't was you time, It just drags the bike down
If you can tell a difference between 7,8,10 paddles on the rear, Imagine adding 8 more to the front axle, LOOKS cool but doesn't realy do much for you.

That is what I was thinking about the fronts. I had thought about using mohawks on the front, that way if I did need the 4x4 I would lessen the chance of damaging something... I have been out on the dune with my stock tires and got around just great. Have you? And what kind of difference would I expect with the paddle?

The Mohawks would help you steer some but in my opinion, it is not worth the money, My buddy has a 2x4 with the mohawks and the big difference is off throttle, my stocker tires plow and the his smoothies do not
The one thing you could do if you really want a front paddle, I would touch base with skat trak, You could send them an old pair of 23-7-10 tires, They will buff them and make them anyway you want. I would thing you would want a very short paddle in a edge patten to help you steer.
I have drove the dunes (Silver Lake MI) with my orginal Titan 589s and did get around just fine.
Rear paddles (22/11/10 Haulers) make a big difference, NIGHT AND DAY
Its all about floatation, Keeps you on top of the sand and keeps power loss to a minimum.
The Haulers along with .125 wheels are SOOO much lighter, and the less unsprung weight the better.
As for the graphic kits, there are a few companies doing them for the polaris machines now: Mine are from Factory FX. the graphicmx kits look better in my opinion, they are new.

I thing HPD has some kits and Hot seat has a kit but, it is the same as thefactory fx kit.
