Default dalton clutch kit ,04.5 500

I would like to get some feedback on these kits as to how well they work and how high the engagement is ,I am thinking of buying one but I am a little leary when it comes to buying clutch kits on account I bought a EPI clutch kit for my previous atv (400 xplorer) and wasn"t really happy with it ,any info would be much appreciated.

I guess these clutch kits for the 500 HO aren"t to popular.

The DBW 500 kit is one of our most popular kits. If it helps to reasure you, because of your mentioned past experiance,I beleive (and I do not know for sure) that we are the only company offering a true 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Either you have confidence in your product or you don't.It may be worth asking about when you are checking around.

Helix, I have just purchased the Dalton DP500A kit which includes the billet helix. I am curious if you or anyone else on this site knows what the stock helix angles are for both the 500HO and the 700 sportsman. Also, any idea what the ratings are on the stock secondary spring (white/yellow stripe). Is it generally recomended that you replace the stock secondary spring with a heavier spring when changing to a more aggressive helix angle?

I have one for my scrambler but I am not sure which kit it is. I like the kit very much, I just have to do some fine tuning for the hi altitude running I do. Instructions are great and if you follow them it is an easy install

Helix
Is there a good # to call to talk to someone about the hi altitude settings?? I think I need a bit lighter secondary spring but need some feedback to be sure

Chris

The stock helix angle on EBS sec clutch for 500ho and 700sp (up to 04) is 38/34 with short duration 38.
The DP500A kit works best with the stock sec spring as the rest of the kit was calibrated to the intended application. In your instructions it shows how to adapt the kit to other applications with spring changes etc. The helix included is slightly different in both angles and duration.Slight changes can meam quite a bit on non torsion secondaries like the ebs.

Feel free to contact me on our site for your specific requirements(altitude etc) or call 902 897-3333.
