#1
I just rebuilt my scrambler with a stock bore wiseco piston it has a hpd trail pipe, 39pwk carb, reed spacer, clamp on k&n, clutch kit, evcerything it doesnt need removed, and it is still slow i went to the dunes this weekend and wasnt impressed i was getting beat by piped z-400s. any ideas why it is so slow or do i just need to keep pouring more money into the piece of junk.

It sounds like you need to spend more money. do you have any porting done? It sound like you are just set up for just trail riding only. Going to the dunes is totaly a whole new ballgame. Call Dennis with az bad boyz and tell him what you want to beat and he will set you up. 602-696-5875

There are lots of variables to consider here, the bike is lightened, but how much do you weight? What rear sprocket are you running, can't always go with the gearing other people recommend. What type paddles are you running and how many paddles are there. What is the condition of your belt, is it sticking out of the secondary by an 1/8 of an inch. Is it the complete hpd trail mod clutch kit, if so did you get the secondary preloaded correctly?

I weigh #160. I have 14/36 gearing. complete aggressive clutch kit im running red/yellow primary, stock weights, violet secondary in the 1,2 position i believe it is preloaded correctly. I run 22x10x8 dune hoppers with 8 paddles. My belt is brand new only one ride on it. thank you for the help i appreciate it

You should be in the 2-2 position on the secondary.Try the 13 front also and see what happens.

Definately put it in the 2-2 position. I had the same setup as that, with that gearing and the red/yellow, your not going to have much topend at all. I would actually go up on gearing or go to a plain hpd primary. Your pretty light with a decent amount of weight of the quad. Those are pretty heavy paddles as well, when you can I'd get a set of 21/12/8 8 paddle exremes.
