I'm having trouble starting my 2002 500 (first start this spring)
#1
It's about 30 degrees out... first time I've tried to get the 500 started since last fall. I sprayed engine preserver in it before storing it away (inside the quonset at the farm). I put Sta-bil in the fuel too.
It's getting spark and seems to be getting fuel too... turns over great, but not even a pop. Anything else I can try ? Note: it's always been a little "cold-blooded".
Thanks in advance...

Does it have a primer? if so use that.
Does it have a pri position on the fuel valve? Use that.
If you open the valve on the bottom of the carb, does gas come out? This just verifies that gas gets to the carb.
Try holding your hand over the air intake snorkle, and block it about 95%, and while holding your hand there...spin it over. This will work like a real choke, and it should start up.
let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replys guys. (I'm a poet and I didn't even knowit. 8-))
Anyway, I found the primer, but that didn't help. I put a new plug in, gave the carburator a couple of gentle taps with the handle of a screwdriver (to potentially unstuck the float valve) and she took right off.
Thanks again. Now I get to see what she'll do in a little snow.
Happy Easter.
