After the two previous times,my Tranny spun reverse again.
Last time it happend it was because I had a problem with the motor spinning backwards ,which pushed the snap ring (that holds the reverse gear) down the shaft which made the gear unable to engage.
This time I don't know why it happend but it must of happend again.Last time I had the trans apart I CHAGED the snap ring and the gear,,so,I don't know how it happend but it did.
Well,because of this problem and the fact that I don't want to spend any money on a WHOLE new trans I'm planning to just Take out reverse.I'm only going to use it for drags and other races anyway so WHY NOT!!
The only problems I have is What do most ofyo do to remove this.Do you take all the two gears out or just the top,or just the bottom.I know these trannys well and have had them apart before,,if the bottom gear comes off how do you keep the drive gear from moving(i never took apart the lower two gears from the shaft)from what I can see it looks like it could shift over without the reverse gear.also it looks like the gear would be the only thing holding the bearing from moving.

JUST TELL ME HOW TO REMOVER ALL THE GEARS FOR REVERSE!!
Also HAVE ANY OF YOU NOTICED ANY PREFORMCE INCREASE FROM DOING THIS!!!

As I recall........... One pound of rotating mass equals about 7 lbs of stationary mass. If we could only remove that heavy a$$ crankshaft[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I've got all the reverse gears out of mine. You'll have to make spacers in order to take up the space.

 

I thought I would have to make spacers.Want did you use as a spacer,,,Pipe, pvc,aluminum,washers.Just wondering!

Did any of you guys noticed any preformance gains???
