flashpoint solvent?

Default flashpoint solvent?

What exaclty is a flashpoint solvent? Why does it tell you in quad manuels to use it on certain things?

Not sure what the flashpoint solvent is, but flashpoint is the temperature at which something catches fire.

Default flashpoint solvent?

No such thing as a flashpoint solvent. But a high flashpoint solvent would be something that would catch fire at a very high temp, say like oil. Most of the time u only hear of high flashpoint solvents because u wouldn’t want to use a low flashpoint solvent on your quad. Such as for cleaning it or lubing pivot points.

ini was wondering what i high flashpoint solvent is to in my book it tells me ot clean my air filter in a high flashpoint solvent and i never knew what it was

i clean mine with dish detergent, and then wash it with water let it dry then soak it in motor oil.

I clean my with the K&N stuff...air filter cleaner....but that is for a K&N too.

Default flashpoint solvent?

Not to sound like an *** or a know-it-all, but flashpoint refers to the temp at which a flammable gas or liquid gives off enough vappor to flash. It wont sustain combustion, ( Continue to burn ) by itself, but it can catch oter things on fire. Like you, your shop, garage and any oily rags that might be laying around. Hope this helps.

Yeah, what he said.....it is the point at which spontaneous conbustion will occur.
