I used to use PJ11 foam filter cleaner spray before I got K&N.

I think some people have used dish soap too.

I use Klotz, just use a filter cleaner and not gasoline or solvent that is not designed for an Air Filter. Also use filter oil and not motor oil. Let your filter dry completley when you rinse it with water to eliminate "dry holes". Dry holes form after water evaporates because oil cannot penetrate where the water has been. I have a spare I use I clean one and set it back that way I am not without a filter in my box and it gives me longer till I have to replace the original because your supposed to replace the factory one after 5 cleanings. I payed 24.00 for my spare at the dealer. However if your running K&N the cleaning time is dramatically reduced and the filter is supposedly going to last forever, However if you ride in a lot of dust stick with the foam and get a Diamond G snorkel for improved airflow into your box. I am as soon as I ever get around to it.

factory no, some of the high flowing ones may require a carb adjustment but rejetting I think is only if you open it up too much like univents and such with exhaust.

most offroad or dealer shops or online. I even think Kawasaki sells it on their site as well.

I have two Kawa stock filters for cleaning rotation. I feel that they are very high quality and are not the bottleneck for air flow. I bought a KnN and it did not fit well at all. It allowed a buddy's smoke to go around the filter. Also in the silty dust I ride in, I feel more secure with foam protecting the engine.

I also agree with NYROC that the PJ1 is the best cleaner for foam. Just let it soak long enough and it will do the work. I use the Maxima FAB1 blue foam oil, it is really sticky, and you can see where you put it.
