Default Clutch Help Please

I am trying to install my new Sparks clutch, when I leave the cushion spring in the clutch doesn't grab or release. if I take it out the basket will spin freely with no pressure on the plates. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know what the spaks clutch is. Are you suppose to use the cushion spring? If so there is a different size fiber ( third and last) that goes with the cushion spring, it's the same as the one that goes on last next to the pressure plate.

I read a post last night that said to take out the cushion spring when you use sparks fibers

Then it sounds like you might not be lining up the marks on the pressure plate and hub.
