I bought a used module, how do I wire it
#1
I picked up a used holeshot module. I don't know what make it is. It looks like a small relay and has 3 wires coming out of it. red, white and a black wire with a round 1/4" hole connector on it. It also has a aluminum tab for mounting the relay. It has a sticker on it with some french and enlish words on it. It says "performance part, abusing can be deadly"
Can anyone help me out with how to hook this badboy up?
Thanks

I think I used to have a module like that, it is made in Quebec!!
You need to cut the pink wire and connect the white wire to the pink attached to the CDI, just insulate with tape the other loose end of the pink wire. As mastrblastr mentioned, Black to ground and red to power. on my P700 it was a black with yellow stripes and a brown wire but I do not remember which one was positive and which one was neg( I think the brown was positive!!). you will have to check it with a tester.
What this module does is cheat the CDI with the speed. The timing is set by the speed sensor (pink wire) from idle to mid range and after the timing is set according to rpm (or something else!!), when the module is attached to the pink wire it is sending a "modified" signal (higher speed) so the timing is changed according to that "higher speed". Prairie engine are detuned at idle and low rpm for security reasons (wheelie!!) that's why a stock Prairie pull really harder at mid range.
Have a look at the following site for reference, the wire color are not the same but it is the same thing! I do not recomand using the plastic connector, you should shave your wire and use a soldering gun!!

Be carfull when you try the module for the first time because you will find a lot mor power for take off!!!!
