Default copper gasket head torque?

I'm running a copper wire in a groove on the deck that gives me a better seal on the cylinder. some people call it a fire ring. but what it does is locks the head gasket and gives it a better seal. I just wondering if anybody else out there is using copper head gaskets and what torque are they using on them???

I've got a copper o-ring and the larger allens on the outside.

Preacher put her together on the latest build. Have to ask him. I think it was more in the 40-45 ft/lb range for the head bolts and probably about 20 to 25 on the allens. Don't know how you can get a torque wrench on most of those anyways. The one above the cam chain maybe but, not the ones on the outside (under carbs, below exhaust, etc.

if you upgraded the 8mm bolts to 10mm, then torque all 8 to 50ft-lbs, being very carefull.

Default copper gasket head torque?

Thanks for the info I will run them up to 50 I've got them at 45 now just what to make sure they seal. when I first put it together I didnt use a good gasket on the base and I also got the compression ratio too high I think something like 15/16 to 1 and it would make the pipes glow just at idle no matter what I did with jets I got it to run cooler but when I raced it the coolant jacket crossed over into the oil line and blown the base gasket and the buckets lossed oil didn't hurt the cames but the buckets needed to be replaced. I had also torque those head bolts to 35lb so but I was going on what ron wood told me but he doesnt sell copper head gaskets.. I'm now running a .060 head gasket instead od a .040 gasket should take some of the compression out. and I'm running a steel base gasket that is rubber coated. should work great what ya guys think??

cometic MLS gasket is a better solution than copper. 16:1 is very common for alcohol motors.
