ok everyone i need your expertese (don't know if i spelled that right) well seems like my 650 has gotten to be a lil on the poochy side lately and well i know i have slipped my belt quite a few times and i got the black secondary spring in my clutch finally but i dunno i think i might have smoked the belt one to many times i mean it isn't a huge horsepower lose just wondering what everyone felt and would like to know how much a new belt costs and well i need a bunch of horsepower idea's i live 10 miles from where they make polaris and i love making them boys look bad well thank you for your time and be safe

 

Maybe your secondary clutch needs to be reshimmed to tighten the belt a little. Also Cat told us dealers
to run the machine in low range unless you are cruising at highway speeds. I didn't believe them until
I tried it, at 45 mph the motor sounded fine(didn't sound like it was overrevving).

thanx for the input and i did take out the shim just seemed to be a lil doggy and how much are the belts on there cause i know alot of people that work at the arctic cat factory and i can have one of them pick one up for me and i can get like a 30 percent discount and mine is always in low range with bigger tires on it before i shimmed it and put the black spring in i would crack it down in the field in high range and my belt would slip a lil and did anyone get the new atv magazine they had the shootout of the big bores in there and well in every category the 650 was either 1st or 2nd then when it came to name the top big bore it was the prarie and the grizzley what the hell is wrong with that picture but i couldn't believe it they put them all to the radar from 0-40 arctic cat actually had a lil more then the prarie i have a hard time believing that showed the 650 cat was fastest so what do yall think of that subject on how atv magazines pick there atv's of the year and stuff
