Just curious if anyone owns one of these or has driven one or seen one in action. Do they ride nice? Have decent power? How do they go in the mud? Has anyone seen one with the tracks around the back wheels? Just curious.

The Sportsman 6x6 is a really nice machine. It's an excellent work horse, and is pretty good for recreation as well. Surprisingly, it doesn't have a HUGE turning radius. It turns pretty easy, and gets awesome traction. When setting up for a photo shoot at one place, we drove a 6x6 up on top of a rock pile. This 6x6 didn't have a battery, so it only had the rear 4 wheels pushing. It still climbed up the pile exceptionaly well. Because of the steep angle, no 4-wheeler could do it, but the 6x6 with the long wheelbase could. With 6x6 working, it would be even better!

I have seen some in the mud, but not a lot. They do pretty well. The ride isn't bad at all. Most of the weight of the bax and carge is over the rear axle, so the center still gives a decent ride. Never seen one with tracks.

I've seen two in action. One was in a mudpit with about 2 1/2 feet deep mud for 150 feet. I went through like it was nothing. The second was hauling large rocks and railroad ties to repair a cattle guard. That thing is a hauling beast. We put such a load on it we had the front wheels off the ground. It made steering suck, but it didn't stop. They just don't side hill for beans is the only failing that I saw.

All this praise and I'm not even a Polaris owner.

 

I used one all winter on a turist resort and they are an excellent machine i have seen them in use with traxs on unstopable. they go in snow or mud like it is not there well, worth the money one down fall they have is that you end up carrying all the beverages and that is not a bad thing if you know what i mean.
