Default 04 Predator, 2nd tank of gas, running like junk!

i just got an 04 predator 2 days ago, and it just started running like junk! it was running fine for a while, but then it just wouldnt accelerate at all, i was in 5th with very little throttle then when i went on the gas, it just bogged and slowed down and the pipe started popping (noise), and b4 that anytime i revved up the engine it would just start popping like it reached the rev limiter but i wasnt even at half throttle yet, i also have oil in my air box, coming from the crank case, for some reason, the guy at the dealership said it was some kinda screen that screwed up, but i dunno. i think the performance started to fail when i drove through and got stuck in a big water hole on the trail, but it didnt drown or anything, thnx

Dude, you got water in your quad. Sounds like it's in your fuel, crankcase, maybe elsewhere too.

Drain it all out and start over.

You waited 10 hours before you went in that water right?...just wonderin bc if you play to hard on it during break in you may hav a short engine life...

Hey, me again, i called a mechanic and he thought the problem was that the needle in the carb got stuck, and alot of gas flowed through it, got into my oil which raised the level whereby overfilling my crank case sending oil through the overflow into the airbox and clogging my filter, which resulted in terrible performance, it was clogged pretty bad, he recommended i drain the carb and let some gas flow through it to wash it out good, and an oil change, which im gonna do tommorow and after i pick up the new air filter, and for u ppl who said smg about the break-in, according to the salesman who sold it to me, and a few mechanic friends, u have to work the whole rpm range for a proper break-in, from bottom to top, just not hold it to the pin for more then 2 seconds, u have to work it pretty good, but i think i did go abit too hard on it, o well. i hope this think holds up for me, i never really liked polaris, but.....and the water was only like a foot deep, not even probably, and it got splashed up when i spun the tires, sure wish it had reverse. could getting the cdi and wires wet cause a performance problem? thnx

gotta remember before you work the entire RPM range, to let the engine warm up properly first...otherwise u will have problems...
