Default 38mm PE Carb? good for 250cc??

Hey im about to buy a Kehign (bad sp) PE 38mm quad for my 86 Lt 250 R. I was wondering if it will help me out or not. Read My Engine Mods. I dont really want to lose to much low end, but if i get better mid and top its worth it. Please tell me. i want to buy it sooN!

You will loose low end. How much is it ported? If it is just slightly i would stick with the 36mm carb.

its got a full racing porting. Stage IV. Ill just wait untill i get the overbore. then it will be worth it. When i got a LT290R [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Where are you getting it bored out to a 290?

That port is a drag port right? If so you will benifit from the larger carb and will NOT be disapointed!

yea its a drag porting. And im getting the bore job done at my dads shop. He owns an exotic sports car/ restoration shop so he has all the goods. and ill get a piston from weiseco. Ill see. . . il just wait till i get it bored.

I am not a big fan of round slide carbs(PE). I personally would go with a PJ (oval slide) or PWK (D slide).
