Default 450R Problem

I have a '04 Trx 450r. I just got it pry about 2 weeks ago and everytime i get it out when i first go to ride when its really cold, i choke it, and let it idle then unchoke it and let it idle that way for a while. EVERYSINGLE time i pull the clutch in and put it in gear it stalls but it only happens when its very cold. Do i need to let it warm up a little bit more???or just let it go and start it after it stalls cuz after that it is fine.!!!!!!!!!!

Your clutch may be tight now, but it will loosen up soon enough all on its own. Just rev it a little more before you pop it in gear.

u have to remember that the 450r has a very fast first gear, so unless u feather the clutch quite a bit, or rev higher, until u've ridden it a bit it wants to stall like that. every quad is easier to stall when its cold, that's another factor as well. i used to have that problem, but don't anymore since i've worn out the plates a lil bit.

Who did your proting and what did it cost? Also, did you notice any difference going from the stock 10.5 to 1 piston to the 11 to 1? Thanx.....

If you look at his signature again you'll see that the high compression piston and porting are done on his big red 200s 3-wheeler..
