Which specific models are you comparing?
The only major functional difference is that ONLY BF750 has the IRS and all the other Prairie and BF have SRS. Cosmetic wise, BF (750 & 650) has more aggressive looking fenders.

Is the Brute Force line the eventual replacement for the Prairie line? It appears that the Brute Force 650 is a mighty nice package and it is less expensive that the Prairie 700 and it should have similar performance.

If I'm going to be spending the big bucks, I might as well go for the newer model, right?

No, if you are going to spend the bucks and like the bf 650 then you should get the prairie 700. It has about 75cc more of engine displacement and everything that the bf 650 has. The little bf is just there are a price point, get the prairie if you want the best sra.

I second to that of maddog56. If $$ is a big concern, get BF650. If not (but still want SRA), go for P700. I had P650 before my current ride P700 and the power difference was worth the money for me.

The p700 is the way to go, even if I were buying today I would get the prairie again over the BF 750, or BF650.
I only rode my ridding buddies BF once so far and was not impressed. Handling is way worse and power is about the same with my mods.
Buy a p700 and add a dyna cdi or dg3 with key and you won't go wrong.
Don't let the dealer talk you out of it.

I agree with minimus. I have both and I prefer the prairie 700. Super smoth and crisp power and is about 1 MPH slower than the BF(62MPH vs. 63MPH for the BF) and it is less expensive.
