anyone know if these machines had any trouble? If I remember correctly it was one of the last years Kawasaki produced the liquid cooled 400 motor. There is one for sale locally and I am interested in it. What is a good price to pay?

The old P400's final year production was in 2002 when P650 was first introduced. The P400 had two versions, 2wd and full time 4wd. It had about 29 hp in a stock trim.

I have a 1999 P400 full time 4wd with around 3500 miles. It has not had any work done on it beside normal oil changes. Never even had to adjust the belt. Runs around 57 mph. You can look up the value at kbb.com

Thanks, I didn't realize it had full time 4WD. I would prefer to get one with a switchable 2WD/4WD

I put 24,000km on the old style of the 400, in my books it was the most realiable machine on the market.
