Default top speed on a rancher?

whats the fastest anyone has gotten on a 350 rancher es 4x4? just curious cause im thinkin of doin some performance upgrades and was wandering what i could expect in speed gains, right now in stock trim ive had it up to 48mph on paved rd. thats according to the speedo. what would be the best mods to do to see biggest improvements? by the way its a 05 rancher.

i got my dads up to 47mph on a back dirt road...not very good so im guessing a few more mph on paved...the ranchers dont really give much improvment with mods...you could get a HMF utility exhaust kn jet kit and kn air filter...that might be a few hp...a warn 424 kit would be good too..

Since the rancher is limited by gearing and rev limiters to break 50 you should put it in neutral and tow it with your kfx. Seriously a k&n and pipe will just make it loud and wear out faster. If you want more speed and power buy a quad that has what you want.

Well, can't say I pay much attention to top speed. If I want to go fast, I have sport bikes with REAL suspension, for that.

I put on an FMF MegaMaxII muffler, UNI air filter, and I vented the airbox lid. It perks the little 350 up quite a bit! The gains were pretty much throughout the rpm range. The worst thing is that restrictive wire insert inside the air filter (actually a spark arrestor in case of backfire through the carb). I have not yet found a way to get rid of it. Most UNI filters come with an insert that is way less restrictive, but for some reason they don't make one for the Rancher. Why???? You can go to a K&N, but personally I prefer the protection of foam.

well im about 270lbs. and with me on it it went 48mph on street but a buddy of mine drove it and it went 53mph on a slight down hill and for about a 1.5 mile stretch and he is about 170lb. so i know it has the capability of 53 but i was just wanderin if anyone had any mods done to one , yeah i have the v force for speed but it doesnt hurt to go as fast as possible, right? plus winter is comin so ill be doin more drivin on the rancher mainly cause u dont get as wet on the rancher plus the season is here for wet conditions so its a better quad for that (4x4) obviously, i read a article that after jets, exhaust and filter the rancher only gained like .5 hp, thats crazy! at that kind of a power gain i dont think pipe or filter will wear the engine down any faster.
