My 2004 600 sportsman is starting to use antifreeze. Ican't find the leak and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? As well, does anyone know what mods I should do to make my 600 outperform the 500 HO's that I ride with (like it should)?

MY 02-700 also was loosing coolant internally. I found two cracks inside the water jacket in the cylinder assembly. I did the work myself. $450.00 for parts only. Runs better now and is not loosing coolant.

 

Thanks for the info. I assume your 700 was burning the antifreeze, or was it collecting in the base? For the $450 did you have to buy a new cylinder?

 

Coolant was mixing with the oil. A new cylinder was $279. plus gaskets & new rings.
