Anyone know a good Polaris salvage dealer?
#1
My 99 400 4x4 Scrambler has had a front hub that sometimes sticks and won't release with the 4wd off. I've changed the fluid several times to no avail. Local dealer is difficult to deal with and very expensive. I'd like to find a whole hub assembly to replace it with. Anyone know of a good salvage yard that has Polaris parts? Most I've found are japanese with mostly sport bike parts. Any help very much appreciated.

Try Ebay. I know there are a few salvage yards that sale Polaris Parts. Also in the back on some of the ATV magazines there are some listed. The only one I would stay away from is quad pro out of Canada. He doesnt' deliver the quality parts.

You may try replacing your bearings. you can getem at any auto parts store(they cross reference to a trailer bearing) also use synthetic trans fluid. Be sure not to over torque the nut. 8 ft lbs, no more.
Ive also heard of people replacing the armature plate in there too.
The thing is, theres a good chance that a used hub has probably been well used, and abused. and may give you the same trouble.
just my 2cents
