Something "out of the norm"....

.
My 10 year old son has been maintaining a B+ average for the last month. Since we couldn't go trail riding for the last 2 weekends, my wife & I decided to do a surprise event tonight. When my son got off the bus tonight, my wife checked his test results, looked over and nodded, then I started loading up our quads. For a surprise, my son & I went for a 1.5 hour quad run - immediately after school. My son (and I) were so excited over this event. Being a Monday evening at dinner time, no other quads were on our trails. We had a blast zipping in the sand, going down the bush trails and having a blast in the mud. Then, it got too dark and we headed home.
If your "young riding" is doing something great these day, take him/her on a surprise quad run. Or, some other activity that is fun and out of the norm. Doing things out of the norm as a reward for a different thing in their life will be remembered for a long time. At bed time, my son continued to talk about the fun we had this evening....
Hope this idea encourages more "fun moments" together...

Glad you and your son had such a great time. It's such a blast riding with your kids. I get a kick out of watching them twist and turn to keep their quad under control. I picked up my boy from school and took him squirrel hunting. He had a blast. If Michael isn't on his quad he's in the woods.
