1997 blaster help needed
#1
I JUST BOUGHT A 1997 BLASTER FOR CHEAP. THERE IS NO SPARK. WHEN I HOOK A VOLTAGE METER UP TO THE PLUG I GET negitive 1000 DC ??. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IT COULD BE??? does someone one here have a wiring diagram?

you can't measure the voltage at the spark plug, it doesn't work that way, here is what you want to do, unplug the harness coming from the stator, set your ohm meter to 2000 ohms, touch one lead to the black/w red tracer wire going to the stator and the other to ground, you should have a reading of about 228 ohms, if it is less, then your stator coil is shot.

Just sticking it in the spark plug cap won't do anything. Do like pete said and see what you get for results. Alot of times on older blasters the coil wears out causing no spark. But luckly they are cheep to fix.
