rancher bash plate
#1
My factory bash plate on the front of my rancher is paper thin and really bent up from trees and such. Has anyone installed one of the diamond plate aftermarket bash plates? Are they much of an improvement for $50, or will the bent up factory one work fine?

well i have a 2000 350 rancher and its bent all to hell. then i bought a 2004 350 rancher and it is even thinner and cheaper. unless u want a pretty wheeler than i wouldnt do it but its your call. if they can build iot you can bend it.

I purchased my full armour kit from a company called LARAMP and its heavy aluminum. I have slid over rocks and roots , bumped into stuff on the trails and about any thing you can think of and still not scratches or bends on the aluminum. Its so much stronger than the stock, a very good investment.

My wife likes to push over lots of trees when we're blazing trails and as a result she dented the stock front skid pretty good. We put an aluminum diamond plate skid on the front from Highlifter. Looks great and it is very rugged. We'll probably buy one another one when mine gets dented.

I like the Maier plastic plates. They are way tuffer than you might think. (They make guns out of plastic these days!) They are slippery and slide off rocks, where aluminum will gaul and hang you up (and those diamonds are only going to make it worse). They are light, and don't add any dead weight to your machine. Cheap too.
