Any idea if '05 sportsman shocks will fit '04 back sportsman? I see they are over an inch longer and would probably be an improvement.

 

because i cant quite understand your question i will give all the info i can. the rears shocks are the same. the front are different. the fronts will fit in just like they should. they are just the same thing as a scrambler though. going from 6.7 inches of travel to 8.2 inches is an inch and a half more. it is a lift kit that gives you more travel in another sense. get it? i know this because i did it to mine. it gave me an inch and a half lift and rode a lot better. you have to get both the springs and shocks though. so be prepared to shovel out some dough. merry christmas though.

 

i dont think they will as the 05's are 1 1/2 inches wider then the 04's and the shocks are larger.

 

they are not 1 1\2 wider, they are just that much longer

 

the quad is 1 1/2 inch wider, sorry if you miss took me

 

do you wonder how they got to be 1 1/2 inch wider. the A-Arms were widened. that made the wheels sit in the right place and not lift it an 1" 1/2. on an 05' the shock mounts for the front are higher too, just like a scrambler. scramblers have higher fenders because of the higher shock mounting.

 

The 05s are both and 1.5" wider and the front shocks are also 1.5" taller. Like the other guy said. You can put the shocks off the 05 on the 04 front but be prepared to dish out some $$$ because you do have to get the taller springs to go with them. As he also said they will lift the front of the atv.
