Have any of you tried it or heard of any one that has i would be interested in opinions.

 

Entomber had a 44, then sent it to Mr. HP, it went faster than before, then he sold the 44 and went for Eric's 46HV. Sandaholic is selling his 46 if you want to get a good deal on a 46. Sandaholic's carburetor ran well also - I've seen it personally.

With a used 46 available, I'd have to go for that before worrying about the 44.

found a place we can get lecton carbs setup for your application for *CHEAP* example 44mm would be around 275 setup!!! but you would have get a cabel made but this gentleman told me he could get me in touch with a guy that custom makes them for about 30 bucks!!!

 

there are lots and lots of 44mm Lectrons out there, everybody always got them from FastByGast before MrHP came out. Back in the day, FastByGast sold them for $225 to forum members.
