does the light turn on when you turn the switch on. if it doesnt then pull the front hood off and check all of your connections. if the light does come on do the same thing. just tryin to help.

as everyone knows check your hub fluid... the hubs take very little fluid and if u run dry it wont engage for you... check those and refill or change the fluids lets us know

If you've jacked the machine up,awd on and in gear and the front tires don't turn,it's probably the switch in the gear selector box not allowing the awd button to light up which completes the circuit to the front wheel drive.Bad design that was later changed to the transmission. While in gear push the gear shift lever a little harder and see if the awd lights up,plus check low range. Usually does better in low as it's not used as much.Plus if you really haven't checked the front wheel drive, could be as simple as a burnt out bulb. Item #7 on the bulb. Item #14 on the high$ switch. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
Most of the time it's worn out shift box components(shifter, linkage slides, etc) that don't allow the switch plunger to contact the shift lever. Some posters have jumped the gray wire from the shift box to the red or red/white section on the circuit board to gain full time awd if it's the shifter switch, but that's up to you.Not crazy about that idea! Plus do a fluid change if you haven't already done so. Polaris Demand Drive Plus fluid only.
