front tires on a 650 p
#1
A friend of mne has a 2002 650 prarie. He wants to upgrade his tires but is cautious about getting the front to big that they will rub something. Does anyone have any experience in this area? The tires he wants on the front are a little wider and 1" taller than stock.
I know the newer models are comming out with 26s on them, but will a one number wider tire cause a problem?
Thanks

I am running a 2003 650 P with 26x12x12 rear and 26x9x12 fronts, (Bear claws) no problems except that they are harder on gas and drive belts than stock tires. Only to be expected becuase they are heavier and have greater rolling resistance. On the other hand, they don't get stuck easily and will cross logs and ford holes better.

My buddy and myself have '02 P650s...we went with Goodyear Mudrunners (runflats) and stayed with the 25" because of the added weight. They are a great match for the quad and we don't have to worry about flats when riding the rocks/mud/everything else at places like Hatfield. You might want to check them out...they wear like iron.
