Default My front fender mounts hit!

I looked at past postings and can't find anyone indicating they have the same problem as I do. DON'T GO THERE !

Anyway what is happening is I put on new front tires 22x8x10's the original was 22x7x10. The added 1" width has caused the tires to rub the fender brackets. Has anyone had this problem and what was done to correct it?

8" width will rub, I run the wider fronts for better flotation in the sand BUT I don't run the fenders in the sand either. I don't see a real easy solution because the fender clearance with the frame and a- arms is already very tight. Let us know if you find a solution.

come to think of it, if you replaced the wheel studs with a little longer bolts and then bolted on a nut first and then the tires you could pickup 3/8"-1/2" of clearance.

Well if nobody comes up with an answer other then removing the fenders all together then I will design a fitting that will allow the relocation of the brackets from below the wheel.....

I came up with a little fitting that I will make at my shop. The brackets will need to be cut below the cross bar about mid way down. Once they are detached the fittings will slid on and they can be rotated to set the fender bracket 3/4" away from the original position. The fitting is out of steel so it can be spot welded or the thru holes can be tapped for 1/4-28 set screws, I haven't made up my mind yet.....
I'll try to put a 3D picture of the fitting on my photo page.......
