good evening,
i was seriously looking at the honda recon. i thought it was a awesome quad. i have looked at all of the specifacations on it. this will be my 1st quad. i am 13 years old and i was just wondering what some people that have one thught about it. i also would like to know what the top speed of it was and does it have good torque and power.i am 5"6" and 165 pounds do you think i will be able to handle it. i will mostly be hunting and trail riding on it , will it do good at that.thanks alot

 

I have had a recon for a good time and can tell you will love it. It's probably one of the best begginers quad. I know have a 400ex, which causes me not to ride the old recon alot but when i ride it I realize how much fun it is again. Remember to wear safety gear and keep the rubber side down!

 

I heard plenty good about the recon.They have a good review on it on this web site{atv connection)..Also consider Bayou 220 !

You might want to try a search on the Recon -- there has been a lot of recent discussion around here, including top speed.

 

I Know its the fastest 250 and is a very good slider and jumper for a sport/utiliy!!Id probaly guess it goes around 45-50.

 

Recons is a good bike. I'm 14 and am 5,7 and 135 pounds i have a 300ex, but i think it would be a little much for a beginner like you. So i say the recon is a good choice, You might also consider the new sporttrax 250ex if you want a sportier ride.
