Can anyone help with this problem I am having with my warrior. When I pin the throttle it cuts out on me, I have tryed grounding from the reverse lever to the negative battery terminal, to no prevail.
Some of the mods on it are a pro-circuit slip on exhaust pipe, k&n air filter. I did rejet to a 150 main, have not raised the needle.

One thing that I did not do when I put this back together after a rebuild was to sctratch the paint off of the motor mounts right where the engine contacts the frame, this is my next thing to try. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

Go back in the posts to August and find the one titled "whats wrong with my warrior". It has some most excellent info on everything from AtoZ.
Good luck

put your stock air filter back, my K&N caused a similar problem. It may look clean and be clean and still cause it! And it doesnt cost anything to try it.

If it's only ocurring at wot, it is unlikely that the needle is the problem. With the pipe & filter you run, I assume at sea level more or less, you may be a tad lean on your main jet at 150. Try a 155 and re-test & read your (new) plug. I run a 155 main in my Warrior with basically similar add-ons. including a vented lid, but I'm at 3200' elev too. I don't recall if Mikuni makes a 152 main, but you might pick up that one also if available, just in case the 155 is too fat.
You don't say what year Warrior you have, but if it's an older model or has been subjected to excessive and/or deep water, you may wish to check the electrical connectors under the plastic for corrosion. Some of them carry ingition current and could be the problem. If jetting won't cure it try running wot with your lights on and if they flicker, the connectors may be the culprit. Clean them up with fine emery cloth & re-test.

i have a warrior with 12-1 je piston,450 lift cam,kn filter, white bros exhaust, ported head,i bought all my stuff from alba yamaha and they sent me some big jets i installed their jet and my warrior cut out at wide open throttel,it was more noticable in high gear,i also moved the needle like they told me .so i started jetting it down and the problem kept getting better,i ended up going to the stock jetting and needle position,i ride at about 3500ft,it runs great now, also i first put the filter and pipe on before i did the rest and had the problem,my dealer told me that all the ones he has put exahust on needed to be jetted down also, you always hear about how you have to jet up but its not always the case,

96 warrior lots of mods
01 raptor blue stock
dont think ill be spendin much time on the warrior anymore
