Default R&R of clutch basket .. whats the best way?

For those of you that have done it , whats the best way to bust off that pesky nut off the end of the shaft that holds on the clutch basket?
Do you need to purchase the special tool from Bombardier or is there another method?

Thanks in advance !! JP

I would buy the special tool from Bombardier. Most of the tools are not that expensive and sure make the job easier. Besides you have a tool that you can loan to those who need one.!!

About 30 bucks give or take at perty much any bike shop. If you want to see what they look like and see one in action take a look at my Shift Fork Replacment Guide Obviously you have to remove the clutch basket to split the cases so I explain how to do that in this guide. You can also access more do it yourself stuff for the DS by clicking on the link in my signature.

Thanks E-C !!

Now all I have to do is find a shop that stocks them. .....

I called the dealer the other day ( yea I know the dealers suck sometimes but ya never know when the may actually help ) they want 40.00 bucks to bust the nut loose and then slap the new basket on and re tighten the nut.... oh yea , ill have to wait two weeks also! Incredible.
