Newbie here, starter quad to buy?
#1
Hey guys I am new to the forums and I just got into atving. I went for my first time at the Pismo beach sand dunes in California and i absolutely love this now. I am thinking of getting my own ATV and i was just wondering what you guys would suggest for a new person like me. I am 18 years old and i obviously know my limits so i won't go out and break my arm falling or losing control of my quad. I was thinking a 400ex. What do you guys suggest?

I'm in the middle of packing up to head for Pismo in a couple of days! Are you looking for primarily a dune machine, or are you intending to do some off-road riding as well?
If you are buying used, you will find the best deal on a 400EX. If you are buying new, skip the EX and get a Z400. The Z is an EX knockoff, with a lot more engine.
What riding is available in the Santa Barbara area? The mountains look inviting, but are they all wilderness area???

Im looking for a quad that can be used for sand and offroading as well. In S.B. there is no where to really ride around here cuz most of the nice hike trails don't allow it i think. The only times i know you can ride is when someone privately owns land. Hmm your going up to pismo soon? hmm i might be going too with my family and a few friends maybe you can show me the ropes up there. The z400, by suzuki right? do you know a good place that i could buy one from and yea i am looking mostly for new but used will be fine as well.
