I just bought a 92 250x, runs great, starts first kick... but.... when i put it in reverse it kills the ignition immediatly...

i looked through the clymer manual. it says it has a reverse switch in the clutch housing...

my question is: does this switch connect to the ignition system or is it just to turn the reverse light on?

If you look at a diagram you will see that there is a small box around the CDI the is for your reverse. It should be in the book you have.
